A very warm welcome back to Rev Gordon Best and the New Mills team who are with us this to run  The holiday bible club  ‘Sonwest Roundup’ for children of primary school age which will be held each evening in Greenbank Hall from 6-8pm.  Come and enjoy stories, drama, craft, games and much more..

A bus will run from Malin and Carndonagh the details of which have been circulated.  A big thank you to those who provided and prepared the food for the BBQ held yesterday evening to welcome the team.

 

The youth club are planning to go the Moville Outdoor Centre at Cooley on Saturday 12th July.  Activities will include assault course & team building with map reading, riddles, mucky challenges, etc. Teams will compete with the highest score the winners. Activity lasts about 2 hours.  Cost €15 which includes transport and food.  If you plan to go please respond to text and secure your place with €10 deposit to Ann/Helen.  Bus will leave Malin at 1.30pm and Carndonagh at 1.40pm.

Malin Presbyterian Church will again be serving afternoon teas each Saturday from 2.30-5.00pm in the church hall for the months of July & August.  There will be home baked bread, jam & handmade greeting cards for sale.

JIM’S CHARITY CYCLE FROM MIZEN HEAD TO MALIN  HEAD

 Jim Morrow from Donegal Town plans to cycle that route along with some friends from Thursday 17th (leaving Mizen Head) and arriving at Malin Head on Sunday evening 20th  July to raise money for Galana in Kenya where Derek and Linda Roulston and family have been working.   Money raised will go towards the WHEAT project (working to imrove Health, Educaton, Agriculture & The Environment)

There is a sponsor sheet on the porch table if you would like to contribute to this ongoing work.  Please put money in basket on table.  Thank you.

Announcements Sunday 22nd June

The AGM of the badminton club will take place in the hall tomorrow evening 23rd June at 9.30pm

The holiday bible club  ‘Sonwest Roundup’  for children of primary school age will be held in Greenbank Hall with the Gordon Best team on the first week in July (Monday 30th –Friday 4th July) at 6.30pm each evening.  A bus will run from Malin.  The team will arrive next Saturday 28th June and there will be a BBQ at hillhead at approximately 6pm to welcome the members of the team.  Members of the congregation are encouraged to come along to meet Gordon and the team on Saturday evening.  There will be a short meeting after the service today to make arrangements for the BBQ and for the provision of meals for the team during the week.

Members of the team will be participating in leading the service next Sunday 29th June

The death has taken place in England of John Cunningham formerly of Collon Hill.  Deepest sympathy to his brothers and sisters and the family circle.  His funeral will take place next Thursday in Rochester, Kent.

 

The recent social held in aid of Inishowen Disability Action Group raised €880.  Thanks again to all who made this a successful event

 

There will be a Fundraising Quiz in aid of Relay for Life in Simpsons Bar on Friday 23rd May at 9.30pm.  Hillhead badminton members Donna, Janice and Sandra are part of a group of badminton players from County Donegal taking part in the Relay for Life event. All welcome.

Child Protection Training

Taking Care Foundation Training Event will take place in Trinity Presbyterian church on Thursday (15th May) from 7.30-9.30pm.  This training is for new leaders for those who have never attended training sessions before or for leaders who have not had an update for some time

Service of prayer for the sick will be held in St Johnston Presbyterian Church today at 3.30pm and will be conducted by Rev Robert Buick.

The University of Ulster Choir will present ‘Cantus Animae’ tomorrow evening (12th May) at 8pm at the Church of the sacred Heart Carndonagh.  Admission is free with a retiring offering.

Fit for Life is a  three night programme of looking after your body, mind and spirit with the ladies of Fahan Presbyterian Church.  They will be held on Monday 12th, 19th and 26th May.  There will be a walk from 7-8pm   Talk & Supper 8-9pm. Speakers include: Kathy Ann Gibson, Dr E Ashenhurst and Sylvia Speer
