Announcements Sunday 21st April 2019

Thank you to all the young people who are participating in our service today and thanks also to the Sunday school team for their support.  Many thanks also to the instrumental group who are leading the praise.

United Easter Praise Service in Greenbank Hall on tonight at 7.30pm.  The service will be led by members of the 4 congregations and the format is music focused with soloists and singing group along with readings, poetry and epilogue by Rev David Latimer.  Retiring offering in aid of the Newmills team Burma Project.  Refreshments after the service.  Everyone very welcome.

Moderators appeal ‘Cyclone Adai Special Appeal’. The Moderator has launched a special church appeal for those affected by Cyclone Idai.  The cyclone which swept through Mozambique, Malawi & Zimbabwe a few weeks ago caused severe flooding and major loss of life.  The Presbyterian Church in Ireland will be sending an initial €69,192 to its partners working on the ground and has asked members to respond prayerfully and generously.There will be a retiring offering today and next Sunday.

Social: In aid of Patients Comfort fund Ard Aoibhinn Dementia unit at Carndonagh Community Hospital will be held on Friday 26th April. Music by A & J Country.  Dancing 9.30pm to 1am. Tickets (inc Supper) €6

Country & Gospel Music Concert in Greenbank Hall on Friday 26th April at 8pm (doors open 7.15pm).  Featuring Yodelling Kenny Archer; Brian Rankin; Eugene O’Dornan; William Mawhinney Band.  Tickets €10 or £10 in aid of Moville Methodist Hall building fund

BLOOD DONATION CLINIC

date: Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd May

time: 2.30pm – 5pm and 7pm – 9.30pm

Mid week bible study at Howard & Helen’s cottage in Malin at 8pm. All welcome

Celebration of Easter: Praise Service at Greenbank next Sunday (Easter Day) at 7.30pm.  In preparation for this service there will be a practice in Greenbank on next Thursday evening at 7.30pm for anyone who would like to be part of praise group.

New communicants  Rev Latimer will meet with new communicants in Greenbank today @ 2,30pm. The class will finish no later than 4.30pm.

United Session meeting (4 churches) tomorrow Monday 15th April at 7.30pm in Greenbank

Easter Coffee Morning and Cake Stall in Fahan Presbyterian Church Hall on Wednesday 17th April from 11am to 1pm.There is no charge for admission or tea. Box for donations at door. Proceeds divided 50% to Romanian Ministries and 50% to Church Funds.

Good Friday Service (19th April) will be held in Hillhead Church at 8pm and will be conducted by Rev Drew Abernethy. Format will be readings and praise with epilogue

Come along to our easter formal, as we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. It will be on Saturday 20th April 7pm at Ignite venue. There will be worship, a sharing of the Easter story with food and games after. A suggested donation for food is €10. The dress code is formal. We hope to see you there!

‘WITHIN’ ( PSALM 46 V5). ‘ Within’ ladies Breakfast (tea, coffee & goodies) next Thursday 11th April from 11am-12.15pm in Issy’s cottage Carndonagh.  A time of fellowship for all ladies of any age with good food and good news from the bible. An evening of Metrical Psalms. Praise evening led by Derry and Donegal Presbytery Choir in Fahan Presbyterian Church tonight Sunday 31st March at 7.30pm. Fifty percent of the collection will go to Romanian Ministries (our nominated charity for 2019) and fifty percent to Church funds.
Please join us for a time of praise followed by tea in the Hall.

Mid Week bible study at Howard & Helen’s Holiday Cottage Malin on Wednesday evening  (3rd April) at 8pm.  It is planned to study Psalms 20-29.  All welcome.

Audrey & Robert Hutchinson with their family would like to thank all who supported their fundraiser for the Irish Kidney Association on the 2nd March.  A final sum of €4055 was raised.

Praise & thanksgiving service. You are invited to an evening of praise and thanksgiving in the Methodist Hall Moville at 7.30pm tonight (24th March). Please join us to give thanks to God for all the good things that have happened in the hall over the years before demolition begins at the end of the month and to pray God’s blessing on the construction of the new hall. If you have any photos of events that took place in the hall please could we borrow them. We need them by the evening of Friday 15th and you can leave them with Rev. Alison Gallagher at the Methodist manse.

REBOOT Belfast is on Saturday 23rd March. Last year Presbytery organised a bus to the event plus others went in cars. A bus is been organised again this year. It is an excellent event for young people to ask whatever questions they have about faith. Those who attended last year felt it was an excellent event both in purpose and organisation. To get an idea of the size of bus please let Maurice (083-1424205) or Austin (087-6811586) know if planning to attend to get an idea of numbers. There are a number of tickets available at a discounted rate.

Gospel praise evening in Greenbank Presbyterian Church  tonight at 7.30pm. Praise will be led by Coulter Blackburn, Dayle & Brooke Kincade, Hazel Hargy & Anne Backus, Elizabeth Wylie and John McGeoghan.

A retiring offering will be taken up and the proceeds will go to the Newmills Presbyterian Church mission team led by Rev Gordon Best  who are travelling to Burma. Supper will be served afterwards in the hall. Everyone is very welcome.
