Thank you to Philip who is conducting the service today and a warm welcome to members from Newmills who are sharing in our worship today.  Best wishes and thank you to Lincoln for his ministry to us over the past few weeks. He will be moving to First Portadown this week for the next part of his time in Ireland.

Holiday Bible Club @ Greeenbank from 3rd – 7th July 6-8pm: We are delighted  to welcome back the team from Newmills who will be leading the  Holiday Bible Club starting tomorrow evening from 6-8pm at Greenbank Hall.  This is for children aged 4-12 years to attend and enjoy and some of our own folk would be able to help out during the week too. Please speak to Philip if you can help out.

 Thanks you very much to everyone who came out to the BBQ yesterday evening and to everyone who helped supply and cook food. Also thanks to everyone who is helping out this week in various ways with the HBC. Your help and support is  immensely appreciated.

Service next Sunday will be Joint Family Service after HBC on Sunday 9th July, Greenbank Hall @ 12 noon  following our holiday bible club we are going to have a joint family service in Greenbank hall, incorporating some of the excitement of HBC into our service. We have to have some treats after the service as well!

Financial report sheets for 2022 are now available on the porch table. Thank you to the treasurers for all their work in looking after the church finances throughout the year.

Good as New Shop:  Thank you to all who came along yesterday to clear out the Good As New Shop for closing.  Many thanks also to all who covered sessions at the shop over the past 8 weeks and to those who provided items to sell in the shop.  Your help and generosity is much appreciated.

Philip on Annual Leave

Philip will be on annual leave from 11th July to the 8th August inclusive. During this time cover will be provided by the Revs. Alastair Rosborough (Knowhead and Ballyarnett), Seth Wright (Donnemanna) and Lindsay Blair (Faughanvale). He would much appreciate your prayers when he is  away as part of that  he will be leading an SU Camp, a week of intense study in Florida and then a few days of ‘own time’!

Thank you to Lincoln who is conducting the service today,  It has been great having him as part of our faith family over the past month or so.  Wishing him every blessing as he moves to First Portadown PC next week for ‘part 2’ of his time in Ireland.

Good as New Shop:  The Good as New Shop (in aid of church funds) continues until the end of the month at Pound St. Carndonagh (next door to Neal Doherty Auctioneers in Carndonagh).  The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.  Thank you to all who have been helping out with the shop and for the donations of the many items to sell in the shop. It is much appreciated.

Who is this for? Anyone who has been already helping out with youth ministry in the Inishowen4. Anyone who would like to be involved in youth ministry in the Inishowen4.
What’s it about? Taking time to reflect on our youth ministry, particularly looking at our younger primary school children.
Garda vetting forms are available in church, directly from Philip, or from the PCI website. If you have been vetted before the process is reasonably simply. If not, there involves some more paperwork. Please bring ID as per the documents with you.

Youth ministry discussion….Provisional Meeting for Youth Ministry Discussion and Garda Vetting: is Tuesday 6th June, Carndonagh Church @ 7pm. If there are any difficulties with this date please let Philip know. For those who have been vetted in the past, revetting is a relatively straightforward process, for those who have not been vetted before there is a different pathway to follow which will be discussed on the night. If you have been vetted before please collect a form from Philip and bring the necessary documents on the night (copies if possible as well, though Philip can arrange that without difficulty).

In-Service Training: Every year for the first five years after ordination ministers are required to attend in-service training. Ministers are encouraged to take one of the Sunday’s either before or after off from normal

duties to allow for a time of reflection. As such Philip will be in Belfast from Saturday 13th May to Thursday/Friday 18th/19th. He will be available in case of emergency through email or mobile.

Remembrance service: The management, staff and chaplains of Letterkenny University Hospital invite you to their annual ecumenical service of remembrance for families who have lost their babies through miscarriage, neonatal death and stillbirth and for those who have suffered the death of a child. This service will take place in the Church of the Irish Martyrs today (Sunday the 14th May) at 3pm

For the month of June we will be hosting a student from RTS (Reformed Theological Seminary Orlando – where Philip is doing his DMin). Lincoln will be sharing some ministerial duties with Philip as he works through his calling to ministry.
