Harvest & Healing Service in Donagh Church this afternoon at 3.30pm with guest preacher Iva Beranek, Church’s Ministry of Healing (Dublin) followed by tea.  You are invited and welcome!

Bible studies:  A four week bible study for the four churches continues this Wednesday (17th) in Greenbank and will be led by Roy Porter. Roy is no stranger to this area as over 35 years ago was CEF director in youth and children’s work in Good News Clubs and Holiday Bible Clubs.  Other dates scheduled are Wednesday 31st October & Wednesday 14th Nov.  All are at 8pm. Everyone welcome.

Rev Drew Abernethy will conduct 4 bible studies on the following dates in Greenbank hall at 8pm — Wednesday 24th October, Wednesday 28th November & Wednesday 12th December.  Everyone very welcome

Moderator’s Appeal for Indonesia. The Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Charles McMullen, has launched a special appeal for Indonesia, where tens of thousands of people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance following the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami. There will be a retiring collection next Sunday 21 st and on Sunday 28th October..

Moville Presbyterian Church Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Sun 21st Oct at 7.30pm.  Supper afterwards in the Hall. Everyone Welcome

 Knowhead Harvest Flower Festival presents ‘Fair Waved the Golden Corn’ on Friday 19th October (12 noon to 7pm), Saturday 20th October (10am to 7pm) and Sunday 21st October (2-5pm).  Arrangement by Londonderry & District Floral Art Society.  Closing Praise service on Sunday 21st at 7.30pm with Choir Foyle U3A musical director Jim Goodman.  Light refreshments available during the festival.  See leaflets on porch table for other details.

Knowhead Harvest tractor run on Saturday 20th October.  Registration at 10.30am.  €20 per tractor.  All vintage and modern tractors welcome. See leaflets on porch table for further details.

Social in Hillhead Hall on Friday 26th October (in aid of church funds). Dancing 9.30pm-1am. Music by Eddie Gallagher-Tir Chonaill Country.  Tickets €6 (Inc Supper).

Malin Presbyterian Church Harvest Service on Sunday 28th October at 7.30pm, the service will be conducted by Rev Stuart Mc Crea and the Coleraine Community choir will lead the Praise. Supper afterwards in the Hall. Everyone very welcome.

Information from Rev A Rosborough regarding church membership classes (communicant classes)

Classes to begin in January (DV) and run through to late February or early March, in good time for admission to the Lord’s Table for Easter/ Spring Communion, depending on the practice of the particular congregation

Points for those considering membership:

  1. At least 14 years old (in their third year at ROI secondary school)
  2. Have sat in on at least one Communion service (not taking part, but observing what goes on) before the classes begin. If they haven’t done so, then they should be invited to the next Communion service.
  3. Have attended Sunday School and be familiar with the Lord’s Prayer and 10 commandments.
