messages and information

Email from Rev Drew Abernethy. Afternoon Kathleen and David…. how are you and everyone in Carndonagh coping in these anxious times. All of you have been much in our thoughts and prayers. Having come to know you all over the years part of me just longs to share with you and the good folk of the other Churches the sure and certain assurance that our Sovereign Faithful Loving Father God is very much with each one of you. Pass on to the folk of Carndonagh, especially the very vulnerable; our love and our promise that we will continue to hold you up before the A= Almighty. I trust that soon I will be back with you to share God’s Eternal Word.  Every Blessing Drew and Liz. Psalm 46:1ff.

Worship is not cancelled…..a different way to worship

Due to the current restrictions on worship services, many congregations are preparing for a very different form of worship this Sunday. Creatively using live streaming and pre-recorded messages via websites and social media platforms, Presbyterian Moderator, Rt Rev Dr William Henry will also begin a series of Sunday worship services for the wider Presbyterian family that will be available on the PCI websiteThe pre-recorded service, which will last around 45 minutes, will follow closely a usual Sunday worship service and will include a children’s talk and song, prayers, three hymns and Dr Henry’s sermon. The only element that will be missing will be the offering.

Speaking to the Church ahead of the virtual service in a short video posted on social media, the Moderator said that we were living in exceptional days, “While you are not able to meet in that place that has been so familiar to you, that place where God has drawn alongside you, I know that many congregations will be livestreaming their service of worship this weekend. The first in this series of Sunday services will be available on PCI website  and via PCI’s Facebook page on Sunday morning (22nd March)

The Taoiseach’s recent statement regarding measures to contain Corona virus and a desire to minimise social interaction to protect all worshippers and particularly those deemed most ‘vulnerable’, the decision has been taken to cancel church services and ALL church activities until further notice.
